As a partner with FRM, Lee’s primary responsibility is to help clients achieve their financial goals. His clients are individuals, families, and closely-held business owners, and he has spent over 20 years offering sound strategies to help these clients achieve their financial dreams. Lee has been affiliated with FRM for over 13 years and became a partner of the firm in 2002. In addition to working with FRM and his clients, Lee is a Managing Director of Old Growth Capital, LLC which is the parent holding company of our broker-dealer Arete Wealth Management.
Lee and his wife, Kathy, have been married for 27 years and have three adult children – Bethany, Trey, and Caroline.
Lee holds an undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Georgia, and an MBA in Finance from Georgia State University. Both degree programs were concentrated in securities/ investment management and financial planning. After graduating from Georgia State, Lee began his career in Memphis with International Business Machines (IBM) and held positions with other technology companies. In 1992, he started his financial advisory practice by joining the Memphis office of MassMutual and subsequently moved his practice to FRM in 1999. Lee’s combination of academic training and years of practical experience have helped him develop a disciplined and practical approach that translates into clients having more clarity and security in their financial decisions.
Lee is active in community, service, and religious organizations. He belongs to the Rotary Club of Memphis East and is a past-President of the club, has served on the Board of Evangelical Christian School (from which all three of his children are graduates), and attends Independent Presbyterian Church and is a member of the IPC choir. He enjoys golf, travel, reading, and spending time with his family.
