Hamilton (Ham) is a third generation Poynor in the financial services industry since 1934.

Ham helps owners and executives of private business, corporations and high-net worth families organize and implement plans that protect and build wealth for their family, business and community. Ham founded Poynor & Associates, Inc., an independent wealth management and financial planning firm. Previously he has served as a Partner with Reliance Financial Group, as a Regional Sales Manager with First Protective, a wholly owned subsidiary of Protective Life Corporation, and began his financial services career with New York Life.

Ham earned his BS in Economics from Auburn University. He holds the Chartered Life Underwriter and Accredited Estate Planner designations. He is past president of the Estate Planning Council of Birmingham, a member of the Million Dollar Round Table, and a board member of the Forum 400. Ham is active with Sunrise Rotary of Birmingham, Monday Morning Quarterback Club/Crippled Children Foundation and is also a board member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Foundation.

Ham and his wife Kim, have three sons, Mills, Cain and Crawford. They enjoy football, golf, tennis, fishing, hunting and dirt bike riding and spending time with family and friends on Lake Martin.
