Leanne Atencio Martin

Position: Wealth Advisor

Leanne was first introduced to the securities industry after college in 1988 as a paralegal at Goodwin Proctor & Hoar law firm in Boston, MA (now Goodwin, Proctor) working on “Blue Sky” securities registrations. After 15 years of working in the ministry and raising her family with her husband, Greg, in 2003 she returned to financial services as a Financial Advisor with American Express Financial Advisors (now Ameriprise Financial Advisors). There, Leanne distinguished herself by winning the American Express Mercury Award in 2003, was named Advisor of the Year in 2004 and received the Ameriprise President’s Award of Excellence for Advice in 2006.

In late 2006, Leanne took a position as a Vice President at Eastern Bank’s Wealth Management division where she was a Trust Officer managing Trust Accounts, Private Foundations, Investment Advisory accounts and Institutional Endowments. She received valuable experience in trust administration and estate planning. While at Eastern she earned the Trust industry’s Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation. Also during this time, Leanne attended Boston University’s Center for Professional Education and received the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation.

It was Arete’s size, structure and independence that attracted Leanne to the firm. Arete affords her the resources and opportunity she has been seeking to build a relationship-oriented, client service-oriented, integrity-based financial and wealth management practice.

Leanne grew up in California and came to the East Coast for college. She attended Dartmouth College where she ran Track & Field, sang in the Gospel Choir and earned a BS in Psychology. She met her husband, Greg (a Florida native), in Boston where they lived for 16 years before moving to the Seacoast region of southern Maine. They have 3 children in their 20’s pursuing their respective careers and dreams.

Leanne volunteers for HOPE’s Granite State Chapter serving New Hampshire’s children. In her spare time you will find her serving in the ministry alongside her husband or enjoying the Seacoast area of Maine and New Hampshire.
